First an apology for taking so long to start this, but here we are. Enjoy.
Socrates once said, “I am the wisest man alive, for I know one thing, and that is that I know nothing.” I am about to impart all the knowledge a college student can. I have only a few strengths, my passion, my convictions, and my pursuit of knowledge. I am by no means what one would consider smart. I am not an all A student, though I probably should be, I have absolutely no street smarts and I definitely don’t do physics, but while I am not smart, I do pay attention to what is going on around me, politics, people, news, and society. I am amateur philosopher. I say amateur because I have come to the understanding that I will never be as smart as Socrates, Aristotle, or St. Augustine, but if I can get one hundredth of their knowledge, I will feel accomplished and will have achieved a great feat.
Philosophy by definition is the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence, esp. when considered as an academic discipline. This will not always be about philosophy; per se, I will also cover news stories, politics, and well anything that makes me think or go hmmm. Because I am going to talk about politics I can guarantee that ninety nine percent of the people that read this will disagree with me at some point or another: to you I welcome the chance for an intelligent conversation, built upon knowledge. I will not always be right, and I surely hope that you do not agree with everything I say. This is simply to make you think, to open your eyes and allow you to come to your own opinions. This is not about popularity, good ideas (still not saying all my ideas are winners) are seldom popular. This is my voice, my protest against the status quo.
